Life Transformation Groups

A Life Transformation Group (LTG) is made up of two or three people of the same gender who meet weekly or bi-weekly, to discuss their daily Bible reading, to ask each other character-building questions and to pray for one another. The term “Life Transformation Group” was developed by the Journey Community Church in California, but the idea that we need to read and dialog about the Bible within community is as old as Christianity itself. If you would like to get involved in an LTG, email admin@saintpatrickpc.org.

There are several different Bible reading plans to choose from:

  • The Six Day LTG Bible Reading Plan: This plan was developed specifically for LTG’s so that the Bible reading is broken into 2 week chunks. It also plans for Bible reading only six days of the week so that no one in the group gets too far behind.
  • The BibleYear.com One Year Reading Plan: This plan takes you through the entire Bible in one year and allows you to pick from several start dates and from different versions. Each day includes a passage from both the Old Testament and New Testament.
  • The M’Cheyne One Year Bible Reading Plan: Robert Murray M’Cheyne was a Scottish minister who lived in the 19th Century. With this plan, you will finish the Old Testament once, New Testament twice, and the Psalms twice within one year.

Here are “Five Basic Questions” that LTG groups can ask one another

  1. How have you experienced God in your life this week?
  2. What is God teaching you?
  3. How are you responding to His prompting?
  4. Do you have a need to confess any sin?
  5. How did you do with your reading this week?
